April N. Richardson Esq. is currently the Lead Prosecutor for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, Mortgage Foreclosure Fraud Division. She provides guidance and training to local, state and federal agencies, as well as civil attorneys, community organizations, non-profit and grass root organizations in the areas of mortgage fraud identification, prevention and prosecution.
She has written a guide on mortgage fraud scams and over 2,000 copies have been distributed. She has given dozens of seminars and spoken on the red flags involved with mortgage fraud. She developed this website as a grassroots effort to educate and arm Maryland citizens with information and resources on mortgage fraud and the foreclosure process. As a native Baltimorean, and a current Prince George’s County resident, she has been on the frontline fighting against unscrupulous persons and companies that prey on the desperate real estate situations of Maryland residents.
Recently, Ms. Richardson took a two-year sabbatical from the Law Offices of Bernstein & Feldman. She joined the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office to head the newly developed pilot Mortgage and Foreclosure Fraud division which is part of the Economic Crimes Unit.
