Before your 90 days of Default has passed, your lender will send you a DEMAND LETTER (Step 2). A Demand Letter is usually sent 30 days after your initial Default. The Demand Letter is to advise you that your lender is now demanding that you pay your missed mortgage payments. This letter is usually computer generated by the lender. The significance of this letter is to notify you that the lender did not receive your payment and is now waiting to receive it. Should you not have the money to pay your missed mortgage payment the lender will take the next step to collect its money.
